Member benefits
There’s a range of tangible and intangible benefits to joining Sierra Moms. Whether you’re new to the area and looking to meet other moms and make new friends and lasting connections, in need of activities to engage the little ones, looking for a way to get more involved in the community, or looking for some time just for you—Sierra Moms is the place to be.
With over 200 member families, our group is large enough to have a robust and diverse mix of member-led activities, but small enough that members feel like part of the family. Sierra Moms’ event calendar is constantly filled with recurring activities as well as special moms-only and all member social events that change on an ongoing basis.
As a member-led organization, our activities and clubs reflect the current interests of our members and the capacity of the volunteers who lead them. We are always open to creating new activities and clubs when interest is expressed, and we encourage members to suggest and lead groups they’re passionate about.
Who can join?
Our group primarily serves mothers of children ages 0 to 6. Active members with older children can choose to maintain Alumni Membership with Sierra Moms to enjoy mom-centered activities and occasional activities that are suitable for school-aged children.
Membership dues
Sierra Moms’ annual membership dues of $50 gets you access to everything the group has to offer.
Sierra Moms membership includes:
- New Member Meet-Ups – Held 1–2 times a month. Gives new and existing members and children the opportunity to meet and socialize in either a park or other informal setting.
- Children’s play dates and stroller walks
- Mom's Night Out and clubs – We currently have a cooking club, wine club, and book club.
- Activities, social gatherings, and field trips – Sierra Moms organizes several outings to visit local children’s attractions, tour businesses, meet first responders, hike child-friendly trails, attend theater performances and so much more. Activities take place both during weekdays and weekends.
- Seasonal parties – Four amazing seasonal parties are offered each year for the whole family. Our Spring Fling, Summer Splash, Fall Harvest and Holiday parties are always member favorites.
- Community service and philanthropic opportunities.
- Members-only Facebook group
- Business Discount Partner Program – Local businesses offer exclusive discounts for Sierra Moms members
- Board and leadership positions – Members have the opportunity to get involved in open Board and leadership positions in areas such as advertising, social media, activities coordination, and more.
Who We Are
We are a vibrant group of 200 moms in the greater Folsom-El Dorado Hills area, primarily with children aged 0-5 years. Our volunteer board, composed of 11 dedicated women, work collaboratively on event planning, budget management, and innovative ways to engage our members. Additionally, we have a leadership council of 8-12 members who organize monthly events tailored to their interests—ranging from wine nights to kid-friendly adventures to book clubs. We enjoy connecting with the community to set up and experience a variety of events and often host exclusive Sierra Moms events in partnership with local businesses.
